GAME SAFE FALLING is a targeted, ground impact skills training program that turns hard falls into a mere whisper of what they once were.

Trained and prepared, athletes simply walk away from the fastest and hardest falls in their sport - without pain or injury, and all within one second from the start of the fall.

Game Fall, came into existence at the dawn of the 21st Century, but is built on Safe Falling™ principles that have been part of dance, martial arts and athletics for centuries.

Our mission is to bring an end to hard falls through the simplicity and joy of Falling Ergonomics - ground impact skills.
Game Fall is a member of The Falling Injury Prevention Group™.

Founder of Game Fall and The Falling Injury Prevention Group

Clifford Boardman, founder and President, has thirty years combined experience in seven balance stabilization and safe ground impact systems from around the world. He has taught falling injury prevention skills to thousands, and is a recognized expert and leader in the new field of falling injury prevention skills instruction. He has never been injured in his 200,000 plus intentional controlled falls, and has never fallen off his feet accidentally as an adult. He holds the unofficial world record in "The Most Number of Falls in One Hour."

A New Approach to Falling Injury Prevention: "teach a person to fish and they can feed themselves"

Mr. Boardman knew that if you could teach athletes, children and others ways to prevent their own hard falls, and teach people ways to prevent their own falls, then falling injuries would begin to disappear. Thus, after extensive research he developed two easy-to-learn and easy-to-practice systems: one for hard ground impact prevention (Safe Falling™), and one for misstep prevention & control (Safe Footing™). These two teaching systems have proved to be highly effective and are fast becoming the premier approach to ending falling injury.

A New Approach to Sports Ground Impact - Falling as Strategic Power

Falls, a fundamental part of most sports, are usually considered a dead loss by athletes and coaches - lost time, lost possession, loss field position, lost players (to injury.) Mr. Boardman knew that if you could teach athletes to control their own falls - direction, speed and recovered body position - they would have a powerful weapon in their competitive arsenal. Controlled falls not only would mean injury reduction, but also physical and psychological dominance of opponents.

Thus, after extensive research Mr. Boardman developed a two part easy-to-learn and easy-to-practice strategic falling system (Game Safe Falling). First, athletes learn to perfect their current falling techniques (Resistance Falling); Second, athletes learn new faster more effective falling techniques (Dynamic Falling™ - the One Second Safe Falling Method, developed at Game Fall.)

The Falling Injury Prevention Group

The Group works on many fronts to prevent falling injuries, including research, creation and implementation of skills instruction and training programs, public targeted initiatives, publications, and coordination of people and organizations working on different aspects of falling injury prevention. It's membership includes Game Fall - dedicated to ground impact safety and strategic advantage, and Falling Prevention, Inc. - dedicated to walking safety.

Game Fall

Game Fall has taught Game Safe Falling™ skills to coaches, players and others at numerous athletic programs, conventions, summer and sport camps, and schools.

Game Fall was invited to present its report on Ground Impact Rates in Youth Soccer Matches at the February 2006 Adidas US Youth Soccer conference in Houston, TX. The Report caused a great deal of interest as it revealed for the first time the high rate of head ground strikes in youth soccer matches. Several action plans for reducing this rate without slowing or changing the game were also presented. The report itself will be published in the soccer player and coaching magazine, Success in Soccer, in 2007.

US Youth Soccer recently recognized ground impact injury as an important issue that needs to be addressed in all youth soccer programs. Thus, in April '06, it recommended that all its members nationwide undertake Game Fall training in ground impact and incorporate these Game Safe Falling™ skills into their own youth soccer programs. Game Fall has been described by a senior national coaching education professional as "the tip of the arrow" on the issue of ground impact safety in youth soccer.

"With soccer being a contact sport we know that falling is inevitable and we want our players to have some basic skills in falling in a controlled fashion to reduce the likelihood of injury and to be able to get back to the game quickly.Your [Game Fall's] program does this for our clubs and more.

"The Coaching Education Department recommends that members of US Youth Soccer conduct Game Fall sessions with you [Clifford Boardman] and then to implement the techniques into their training regimen."

- Sam Snow, Director of Coaching, US Youth Soccer.

In addition to youth soccer, Game Fall has training programs designed for college and professional soccer, football, lacrosse, rugby, field hockey, basketball, track, long distance running, equestrian sports, and numerous other sports and activities.

Groundguard training- Game Fall also works to lower summer and sport camp falling injury through "lifeguard" type training in dangerous ground impact. Staffers learn to spot and prevent hard falling situations long before they happen - to be aware of the many movement patterns hidden inside camper play/competition that lead to falling injuries.

"[Your Groundguard Workshop] Training was a very valuable tool in our camp preparation."

- Cindi Manley, YMCA Summer Camp Director, Roxborough, PA
