February 24, 2006 - Game Fall founder presents first ever study on, "Rates of Ground Impact in Youth Soccer Matches", at the 2006 US Youth Soccer Adidas National Conference in Houston, Texas.

The concern for developing ground impact skills was reinforced at this years US Youth Soccer Adidas National Conference in Houston, Texas. Mr. Boardman, founder of Game Fall, presented its study on, "Rates of Ground Impact in Youth Soccer Matches." Prior to this conference, the role of ground impact in soccer injuries was unknown. However, Mr. Boardman introduced for the first time detailed information drawn from extensive research on soccer ground impact. For example, "One out of every ten falls in a youth soccer match include a head strike on the ground," he explained to the numerous coaches and experts on sports injuries attending his presentation. Falling patterns and other ground impact factors were also detailed, again for the first time, by age, gender, competitive nature of the match and competitive skills of the players. Game Fall also made recommendations for coaches and players to reduce hard falling impact rates and protect themselves from unneeded injuries.

Mr. Boardman also presented a workshop with youth athletes on falling techniques. Current falling techniques used in the sport were reviewed and detailed, and new falling techniques that more effectively address ground impact in soccer were introduced. The workshop not only included research data and technical skills development, but also incorporating falling skills into soccer drills, warm-up, and general training. It was shown that with little additional effort, players would not only fall safer but also faster. Specifically, Game Safe Falling technique approach is to use a fall's momentum to speed a player back on their feet after a stumble, trip or shove tackle.

January, 2007 - Based on Game Fall research, the soccer press for the first time raises ground impact skills as an important coaching concern. Success in Soccer, the nation's premier youth soccer coaching magazine, publishes portions of Game Fall's study on, "Rates of Ground Impact in Youth Soccer Matches".

April 21, 2006 - US Youth Soccer's Director of Education, the largest youth sports organization in the United States, urges all its members to take Game Fall training

US Youth Soccer registers more than 3.2 million players annually, ages 5 to 19, and over 900,000 administrators, coaches and volunteers in 55 member state associations. The Director of Coaching for the organization, Sam Snow, recently expressed the organization's growing concern about the lack of ground impact skills and its impact on player injuries. "Given the gradual disappearance of physical education in our school systems ... we now educate our club coaches to address the need of learning how to fall."

"With soccer being a contact sport we know that falling is inevitable and we want our players to have some basic skills in falling in a controlled fashion to reduce the likelihood of injury and to be able to get back to the game quickly. Your [Game Fall's] program does this for our clubs and more.

"The Coaching Education Department recommends that members of US Youth Soccer conduct Game Fall sessions with you [Clifford Boardman] and then to implement the techniques into their training regimen."

- Sam Snow, Director of Coaching, US Youth Soccer.
